HOW OLD IS TOO OLD FOR CUTOFFS?

We see it all the time.  Twenty something year old in front of us down town, bum cheeks poking through the bottom of some ripped denim shorts.  This twenty something year old bum is pre-baby, dimple free and looks like it squats, so yes it probably does deserve to be poking through.  But what about the rest of us who love a bit of ripped denim but don't as much favour our behinds on display while dragging a screaming child/children from shop to shop.  Bottom line is denim is the most versatile fabric that goes with everything.  Basics, stripes, spots, prints....anything.  So why should we have to miss out or face strangulation in jeans or worse "jeggings" in warmer months.
